PROJECT UPDATE: Hulikoa Intersection to Kealakehe Parkway

Published in West Hawaii Today on January 14th, 15th, 16th, 2018.

Road work is scheduled for the Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway Widening Phase 2 project the night of Tuesday, January 16th at approximately 10:00pm and expected to last to Wednesday, January 17th at 5:30am.  All motorists, bikers and pedestrians using the highway between Kealakehe Parkway and Hulikoa Drive should expect delays.

Southbound vehicular, bike and pedestrian traffic will now continue on the new Makai road from Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park thru Kealakehe Parkway intersection and transition back to the existing highway at the South end of the construction project.  Both lanes of northbound traffic will now be transitioned across the median to the Makai road approximately ½ mile South of Kealakehe Parkway intersection.

Please continue to help us keep motorists, bikers, pedestrians, and our workers safe by respecting the posted work zone speed limits.  In addition, please remember that areas not open to traffic are active work areas. For your own safety, these areas are currently closed to the general public for all vehicular traffic and all exercising, including walking, biking, and jogging.

Please help to keep our roads and highways safe.
